2017 Holiday Tech Camps launched!

We’re delighted to announce we have just launched our 2017 Holiday Tech Camps! We have an exciting and immersive range of camps this year designed to ignite your child’s imagination and develop tech skills for life.

We offer a wide range of tech camps for the next generation of progressive coders, innovative engineers and pioneering game designers. Whatever your child’s interests, we’re sure to have an option that will engage and inspire them.

Engineers

Enthusiastic engineers and budding builders will love getting to grips with their own creations in our Lego Robotics and Minecraft camps. Lego Robotics Level 1 (age guide: 7-10 years) is designed to help children learn the basics of programming and is ideally suited to those who love to be creative and discover their own solutions to problems. Lego Robotics Level 2 (age guide: 10-13 years) covers everything in Lego Robotics Level 1 whilst introducing more advanced concepts, including algorithms and navigation.

We also cater for Minecraft enthusiasts of all levels of experience. Minecraft with Mods (age guide: 7-10 years) is an opportunity for newcomers or experts alike to enjoy exploring the challenges of Minecraft. Minecraft Redstone (age guide: 10-13 years) takes Minecraft to the next level, introducing students to Redstone, a simple analogy for electricity and electrical circuits.

Game Designers

We take gamers on a journey from passive play to proactive learning, offering them the opportunity to discover how video games work and to learn how to create their own. Scratch Programming (age guide: 7-10 years) is a great starting point for adventures in coding where children can create games and animations using graphical programming. Those who are particularly passionate about playing Minecraft can learn more about how it works on Minecraft with Mods (age guide: 7-10 years).

Our Mobile Games Development camp (age guide: 10-13 years) takes students on a fun journey through application design and logic so they can learn how to make mobile game apps from scratch. Aspiring game designers will also love Unreal Game Design (age guide: 10-13 years) where they can unleash the power of the Unreal Engine, used in countless popular indie games, which is packed full of tools to get started quickly on game creation. Creative children who are particularly interested in animation and graphics will enjoy 3D Modelling & Printing (age guide: 11 + years). They can learn how to create their very own 3D models from scratch and discover numerous techniques and approaches to digital modelling that are widely used by industry professionals.

Tech Camps

Coders

From the absolute beginner to the experienced programmer, our selection of coding camps offers something for everyone, whatever their level.

Scratch Programming (age guide: 7-10 years) and Lego Robotics Level 1 (age guide: 7-10 years) offer a chance to learn the basics of programming, while the Lego Robotics Level 2 camp (age guide: 10-13 years) introduces more advanced concepts, including algorithms and navigation. We also offer courses on specific programming languages. Python Coder (age guide: 11 + years) is great for any newcomer to coding and we have 3 levels of Java Coder camps: Level 1 (age guide: 11 + years) is an introduction to the language; Level 2 (age guide: 11 + years) enables students to learn about object-orientated programming and Level 3 (age guide: 13 + years) brings everything about Java coding together to enable students to create code that is elegant, efficient and satisfying. For students keen to see their programming skills put into practice, our Drone Coder camp (age guide: 13 + years) allows students to get hands-on experience with a drone, from piloting it, to creating their own controller and learning about what makes it fly.

Touch Typing

Whatever tech path your child is keen to pursue, our exclusive signature FunTyper Touch Typing camp is a must for all. It has been used to teach hundreds of children the essential skill of touch typing, and once they have mastered it, they have a skill for life which will be of great benefit whether they go on to be an engineer, coder or games designer.
